Ain't No Middle Ground This Year, Honey.

I've been a naughty, naughty blogger indeed. It's been a while since I've updated, but in my defence, we hit the ground running as soon as the mountains started making snow.
Coronet opened with a few inches of man made snow. We ended up boot packing part of it to prep for opening because it was too thin to groom! Pete and I taught for a few days at Coronet on two extra crowded runs before Remarks opened. It was a scramble to get Remarks up and running (to say the very least) and we too were open with only a few artificially covered runs.
Only a few weeks into the already late season and we got hit by one of the biggest snow storms Queenstown has seen in years. It was the very first time I've seen snow stay and accumulate in town; it was a sight to behold.
Some hectic weeks under the belt, we still found time to celebrate during Winterfest and rest up on some closed days.

At a friend's house, enjoying Winterfest from her lovely deck.

BOOM.

POW.

The snowy road out of town, in the co-ordinator van.

Tired closed day faces.

Have you ever seen snow in a palm tree? There's one to cross off the list.
