Amping it Up

Though we had agreed that Valentine's Day is an excuse to sell red colored crap to the masses, Pete went ahead and got me a gift. However, it was absolutely in the spirit of mockery. I love that my man totally gets me: chocolate + hilarious personal message = bliss. Please note that the beaver is waving a Canadian flag.

Self explanatory.

Yesterday, I stood in the woods watching the snow fall slowly. Knee deep in untouched powder, way ahead of the Amplitude+ girls, I couldn't help but think: this is paradise.
I had been waiting all week for better conditions. The icy skating rink I had been coaching on was finally getting to me. The girls and I could not wait to get back to our favorite game: bush whacking. All season, we've been working on the skills necessary to attack the glades, specifically those that can't be found on the trail map. The ear to ear smiles tell all; we were loving it.

On more ride to paradise.

New Boots & Last WAA Camp

It had to be done. Much to my chagrin, the red boots needed to go. In with the new: the Lange RS 120 short cuff, race fit boot. Thanks to Torin at Totem Pole for hooking me up and dealing to my fat feet. A few punches, a new footbed and a Booster strap later and I'm finally where I want to be with my blue instruments of torture.

A last WAA (Women's Alpine Adventures): Susan, Andrea, Kathy, Judy & Mary.
